Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct outlines the rules, regulations, and ethical standards to be followed by students, faculty, and staff of Sree Anjaneya Institute of Dental Sciences (SAIDS). These guidelines promote discipline, professionalism, respect, and a safe academic environment for everyone.

Code of Conduct for Students

  • Students shall maintain discipline and uphold the dignity of the institution at all times.
  • Patient welfare and community well-being must always be given the highest priority.
  • Students shall strictly adhere to professional ethics and institutional regulations.
  • Proper decorum and respectful behaviour are expected within the campus.
  • All theory, pre-clinical, and clinical records must be completed within the prescribed academic schedule.
  • Any act of indiscipline will be dealt with strictly according to institutional rules.
  • Activities involving violence, possession of weapons, or violation of law are strictly prohibited.
  • Mobile phones must not be used during classroom teaching, pre-clinical sessions, or clinical postings unless permitted.
  • Students are expected to maintain the required attendance and obtain prior permission for leave whenever possible.
  • Eligibility for university examinations is subject to the prescribed attendance requirements. Medical leave must be supported by valid documents.
  • Students should maintain their own instruments and ensure proper sterilisation before clinical use.
  • Patients must always be treated with compassion, dignity, professionalism, and ethical responsibility.
  • Biomedical waste generated during clinical work must be disposed of in the designated colour-coded bins.
  • Students should maintain courteous behaviour and avoid the use of inappropriate or offensive language.
  • Attendance in all internal examinations is mandatory.
  • Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and punishable under applicable laws and institutional regulations.

Dress Code

All students are required to wear a white coat during pre-clinical and clinical sessions.

  • Male Students: Formal tucked-in shirts, formal trousers, and formal shoes are compulsory. Jeans and T-shirts are not permitted.
  • Female Students: Students should wear modest attire suitable for clinical practice. Hair should be neatly tied. Jeans and T-shirts are not permitted.

Code of Conduct for Staff

  • Staff members shall maintain professional attire and conduct during working hours.
  • All staff should contribute positively towards the smooth functioning and development of the institution.
  • Responsibilities shall be performed with sincerity, integrity, and diligence.
  • Discrimination based on caste, creed, religion, gender, colour, or any other grounds is strictly prohibited.
  • Leave applications should be submitted in advance. In emergencies, the concerned Head of Department and Principal should be informed before the commencement of working hours.
  • Faculty members should deliver quality teaching using appropriate teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
  • Teaching staff should actively guide students in developing clinical competence, patient management skills, and professional behaviour.
  • Faculty members are responsible for ensuring that students adhere to professional ethics and institutional values.
