Midcourse Improvement Policy

The institution has a robust policy for the academic improvement of students. Internal examinations are conducted on time in accordance with the University guidelines. After every internal examination, results are evaluated and students are assessed based on the criteria established for slow learners and advanced learners.

Students who wish to improve their performance or those who could not attend the scheduled internal examinations are provided with an opportunity to appear for improvement examinations. This mechanism helps students enhance their academic performance, and their progress is continuously monitored by the respective departments.

Mechanism for Internal Examination

All internal assessments and examinations are conducted in accordance with the norms prescribed by the Dental Council of India (DCI). A minimum of three internal assessment examinations are conducted before finalizing the internal assessment marks.

The examination schedule and syllabus are communicated to students at least one month in advance. Faculty members are assigned invigilation duties by the Examination Wing. Evaluation and preparation of mark lists are completed within two weeks from the last day of the examinations.

Answer scripts are discussed with students during the following week, and valued answer booklets are distributed for verification and correction of any errors. Student performance is reviewed in departmental meetings, and underperforming students are identified and reported to the Principal and Student Welfare Committee for further follow-up with parents.

Slow learners receive counselling from departmental faculty, and where necessary, they are referred to professional counsellors in consultation with their mentors. Remedial programmes and academic support activities are organized to improve student performance, and their effectiveness is periodically evaluated.
